Richard Varick 1753-1831
Mayor of New York, Richard Varick signed Tavern license, dated 1796.  Richard Varick was Benedict Arnold's   Aide-de-camp when Arnold decided to defect to the British.  Accused of complicity in Arnold's plot to surrender West Point to the enemy, Varick was first arrested..... and then released by a board of inquiry. Varick  later went on to serve as George Washington's Secretary...and close confidant for the remainder of the Revolutionary War.

Free Franked Envelope signed by John Adams to Dr. Benjamin Rush. At Dr. Rush's intercession, Adams & Jefferson buried their political differences in a Flurry of letters that rekindled their once warm & and trusting friendship. Adams & Jefferson died on the same day, the 4th of July, 1826, the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
